A visit to Sandsend
There are lots of things to see and do on a visit to the coastal village of Sandsend.
In addition to its walks, sandy beaches, caves and rockpools, there is a gallery, pub, restaurants, local stores and post office.

Sandsend
Just two miles north of Whitby,a picturesque village set against a backdrop of cliffs,with sandy beaches, caves, rock pools and walks.
Mulgrave Woods
These ancient woods, steeped in history and folklore are
criss-crossed with paths and streams. Open to the public: Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, closed in May.
Mulgrave Castle
The early Mulgrave Castle, dating from Saxon times is an impressive monument well worthy of a visit.

The Heritage Coast
Sandsend sits in the middle of this treasured coastline of dramatic cliffs, sheltered bays and fishing villages. Forming part of the dinosaur coast it is an area rich with fossils, particularly ammonites which date from the Jurassic period.
